Its larger, stainless steel body and rubberized grip are of higher quality than the plastic finish of the Multigroom 3000. In addition, the Multigroom 7000 has more power, which lends to a smoother-feeling trim experience. We also appreciate the charging indicator light of the 7000, which is absent on the Multigroom 3000.

Now, yes, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 is more affordable at around $20 on Amazon. However, the near $60 Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000, will net you a higher quality experience, with more precision capability for greater value overall.

At this higher price point, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 fits more in line with the Wahl Lithium Ion Plus (model 9818), which is similar in specs and performance.  We’d have to say that the Multigroom 7000 and the Wahl are neck and neck, however, the Multigroom pulls ahead just a bit thanks to sharper blades, which leads to a smoother, easier trim. 

For beard trimming, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 provides a more precision trim. However, for haircuts, the Wahl Lithium Ion Plus had the advantage, as it includes more hair cutting guards in tighter increment settings.
