Surker K9S Hair Clipper – After the Cut Thoughts
So, when we first started out there we had a full head of hair. But, Danielle was able to go in there with this Surker hair clipper to trim me up nicely and got the job done.
Now, as I mentioned earlier this hair clipper has a lot of weight to it and because of that alongside this metal exterior frame and this stylish lever you really get the feel that you’re using a professional high quality barbershop hair clipper, which makes it fun and enjoyable.
Hair Clipper Weight
Now, to show you the weight of this Surker K9S I’ve pulled out two other hair trimmers that I’ve used in demonstrations in the past. The Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 and the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 5000. As you’ll see here, the Series 5000 checks in at six ounces as compared to the approximately seven ounces of the Multigroom 7000. However, this Surker K9S almost doubles that, weighing in at just under 14 ounces.
Now, going through this haircut this Surker K9S had no trouble cutting through my thick hair. The blades are very sharp and smooth and with a dash of this oil makes them even better.
There were a few moments where I could hear a difference in the motor as this clipper was cutting through a thicker layer of hair, but as we went through there and shook off the hair that was on this clipper head it quickly returned to normal.
Noise level and Hair Clipper Guard Fit
Now, as far as noise level on this Surker K9S I actually think it’s rather good. It’s kind of a mid-range. It’s actually pleasant to the ear versus those higher pitch hair clippers which can be rather irritating.
So, as far as the guards that come with this in order to attach them you just take this, you stick it into this little lip that’s right there, snap it into place and you’re good to go.
Now, what’s good about these is once this is on here, this feels very strong and very sturdy. You have to put some leverage behind actually snapping it into place, so you know that this isn’t comingoff during your haircut.

If you’re a barber with clients and you want to be able to pull this out you want to be able to walk around the chair, not having anything snagging or anything getting in your way, you can do that with this. A great feature of this Surker K9S.
Hair Clipper Lever
So, just taking a look at the lever that’s on here. As you’ll see, it is called the open position when it’s down and these blades go as far up as they can. In this clipper position, you’re getting a longer cut. If you push the lever up, you’re closing the blades together, so now you’re getting a shorter cut of the hair.
Now, as you’ll notice, there’s a little bit of tension you move this lever back and forth. Some people may like that, however, some people may want a smoother action to it. In addition, there are no indications on the clipper as to what position the taper is in. With some of these clippers, you’ll see little indent marks where you can actually line up to know where you’re at when you’re cutting. However, this Surker K9S provides a fluid lever motion, where you can pick anywhere you really want for a position as the blade is moving up and down.
