  • Mineral Fusion Makeup Covers and Soothes Acne

As someone who’s currently healing from a diet-induced bout with acne, I understand that finding a safe, soothing makeup to use during the healing process is a big deal.

And that’s why I’m excited to tell you about Mineral Fusion makeup!
I’m so impressed with Mineral Fusion makeup products, and the positive impact they’ve had not only on my self-esteem, but on the actual condition of my skin!

Now, my short experience with acne is minor compared to some. And sometimes I feel vain for allowing what’s really just a handful of pimples to cause me such distress.

But, I’m human. Of course, I want to look and feel great.

Luckily, there are safe and effective acne treatments on the market today. The challenge is that finding the right one can take time. And once you find the right treatment plan, it takes even more time to see results.

In researching and working with a naturopathic physician, I’ve learned a lot about acne. And one of my biggest takeaways has been that, in most cases, acne stems from some internal imbalance such as diet, stress, hormones, leaky gut…

This is why topical treatments only go so far.

But, while you’re healing your acne from the inside out, you can be taking care of your skin on the outside to make sure you’re working with, not against, your treatment and healing process.

The last thing you want is to aggravate your skin with the toxins and chemicals found in many mainstream beauty products.

I’ve always worried about covering up my blemishes with foundation for fear that the makeup would make the breakout worse. During my days of buying mainstream brands like CoverGirl, the makeup probably was making it worse.

Luckily, I found Mineral Fusion makeup, which is a safe, gentle, toxin-free makeup that’s quite frankly been magical during my 6-month acne struggle, for 2 reasons:

1. It does a great job of covering up angry blemishes and the dark spots left from older ones
2. My skin actually looks BETTER after wearing a full face of this makeup all day
That’s right. This makeup provides amazing coverage and seems to HELP my skin as I wear it throughout the day.

When I first noticed my skin looking better when I started using this makeup, I figured it must just be coincidence. Maybe my acne treatment was kicking in sooner than expected?

But no, I tested other makeups, including mainstream brands and some natural brands I found at my local Whole Foods. Nothing left my skin looking and feeling as good as Mineral Fusion.

So, I decided to do a bit more research and it turns out the results are no accident.

Mineral Fusion makeup prides itself on developing “Cosmetics that also soothe sensitive skin, moisturizers that even tone, or eye makeup with age-defying properties.” They “formulate to leave skin in better condition than we found it.”

I discovered Mineral Fusion makeup on a recommendation from a health-conscious family member. But actually, it wasn’t the makeup she first introduced me to – but rather the Environmental Working Group (EWG), which is “a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.”

EWG tests and grades consumer products so we can make safer, more informed decisions about the products we put in and around our bodies.

Mineral Fusion makeup is one of few cosmetics companies that’s scores the highest rating on EWG’s website and mobile app for nearly all of their products.

This is a big deal because not only is this makeup safe, it’s also effective in covering and soothing my skin.

Once I realized how great the company was, I stocked up on my makeup essentials.

Here’s what I’m using:

Mineral Fusion Makeup Liquid Foundation

This stuff is among the best foundations I’ve ever used, and it scores extra points for being safe and free from toxins. It goes on really smooth and you can build for coverage if needed.

There’s a wide array of tones for different shades.

I used Warm 1 during the winter. But I’m slowly transitioning to Warm 2 now that the warmer months are here and my skin is starting to tan a bit.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Pressed Powder

The pressed powder is great, too. I only apply the liquid foundation once per day in the morning, followed by the pressed powder. If I need a coverage boost later in the day, this pressed powder does the trick for me. It’s very light but provides really great coverage.

I’m hoping that as my old acne spots heal, I can move to just this powder and wean off the liquid foundation. Because I don’t love to wear a lot of makeup. I’m just glad I have this great choice while I have some old red marks to cover up.

I use Warm 2 all year long. Even in the winter when my tone is lighter, I like that it adds some color over the Warm 1 foundation.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Eyebrow Pencil

I always pencil my eyebrows and have tried many different brands and shades. But Mineral Fusion is my latest favorite. It’s super easy to create natural lines and fill because of how smooth it glides on.

I use the Rough shade, which is medium brown.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Waterproof Mascara

So, the mascara is OK. To be honest, I have not been able to find a perfect toxin-free mascara. They just don’t work as good as the mainstream brands in my opinion. But this one is decent. I use it during the week when I’m working at home or just carting the kids around.

What I do love about this mascara is the safer ingredients.

I’ve always had sensitive eyes that get red, swollen or itchy (or all of the above) when I use different products with harsh chemicals. I always assumed it was a dust or seasonal allergy. Until I started using Mineral Fusion mascara and the allergic reactions disappeared. I’ve tried to go back to CoverGirl for special occasions when I wanted a more dramatic eyelash look. But the reactions came back – so it’s clearly connected to the mainstream makeup products.

I do still suffer for long luscious lashes when we’re going out. But all other times I use Mineral Fusion and it keeps me looking good and comfortable. It’s just a more casual, subdued eyelash look.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Blush

Another product I love! Mineral Fusions blush is the real deal. They have such beautiful blush colors to pick from. And they stay on all day with little need to reapply.

I use the Harmony shade, which is a coral color with golden shimmer.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Eye Shadow Trio

I give the Eye Shadow Trio a grade above the Mascara. I absolutely adore the color shades, especially in the Stunning combo. But I reserve this eye shadow it for my more casual “weekday look” because it does tend wear off after a couple of hours. It great for when I’m running out to do errands or pick up the kids form school – which is what I most use makeup for anyway.

And again, since my eyes are especially sensitive to makeup ingredients, I lean on this one most of the time, unless I’m going out and want a more dramatic looks that lasts.

Mineral Fusion Makeup Sheer Moisture Lip Tint

Lip Tint is fab. It stays on for a good part of the day and maintains a nice gloss. It never feels sticky or dry. I love the Smolder color, which is a really nice, semi-casual color I use every day.
